Dyslexia is an issue that continues to demand attention and improvement within the UK education system and across the globe. While we acknowledge that there's still work to be done, it's amazing to see many individuals and organisations in the UK dedicated to supporting dyslexic individuals. On September 30th, I had the distinct Honor of participating in the Bell House Dyslexia Fair, an event that exemplifies this commitment.

Bell House situated in the village of Dulwich in South London. Bell House is a volunteer-led charity with a mission to provide creative learning opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. Their vision is to create a space for learning, enjoyment, and friendship that is inclusive, collaborative, curious, generous, kind, open, and reliable.

The Dyslexia Fair

 Bell House has been organizing the Dyslexia Fair for many years, and this event plays a crucial role in bringing together dyslexic individuals, their families, teachers, and the wider dyslexia community. The fair serves as a platform for learning more about dyslexia, engaging with experts, discovering valuable resources, and sharing experiences and advice.

I've had the privilege of participating in the Dyslexia Fair on multiple occasions, wearing different hats in the realm of dyslexia support. Whether as an exhibitor, speaker, or contributor, I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact of this event. It's a day I always look forward to, as it provides an opportunity to connect with parents who are navigating various stages of their child's dyslexia and education journey.

One of the remarkable aspects of events like these is the chance to reunite with old friends and forge new connections. The Dyslexia Fair is a gathering place for individuals who share a common passion for neurodiversity and dyslexia support. The connections made here are lasting and invaluable, enriching the network of supporters in the dyslexia community.

Local and regional events like the Bell House Dyslexia Fair are essential for nurturing grassroots support for dyslexia and neurodiversity. They provide a space for individuals to come together, share knowledge, and champion the cause. These events contribute significantly to the broader effort of raising awareness and advocating for dyslexic individuals.

The Bell House Dyslexia Fair deserves again commendation for its unwavering commitment to the dyslexia community.  Well done.
