In May, I reviewed the C-Pen, a handheld device that scans text and reads it out loud. This technology is being used in classrooms across the UK by children who struggle with reading. It is also authorised for use in examinations by the Joint Council For Qualifications. If you use one or you know a child that uses one, I need your help to understand how well it works in supporting literacy skills.

I need your help to understand what you think about it on my latest survey.

With the C-Pen technology being used in classrooms across the UK and beyond, it would appear that this technology is making a difference for children who struggle to read. It provides a quick and convenient way to read out text in a classroom or an exam and it has been linked with increases in confident and independent learning.

At least, this is what I am hearing from the manufacturer, but I haven’t hear from the students that use the technology.
