I love September! To me it seems strange that we have lots of New Year celebrations at midnight on January the 1st every year, when in many regards the 1st of September is often (for me) more 'New Yearly'.
In September we see the start of the new academic year for students of all ages, the focus of many parents is very much to support that process and so with all the preparations there is a huge focus on what September onwards has to offer, especially for our dyslexic learners. In fact, by the time January 1st arrives it almost feels like it is a little late to celebrate new things.
I'm just rambling, but the point I am making is that at this time of year there is so much effort put in to give our young learners the best start in the new academic year. There is lots of change and there will be a mix of heartache and excitement as we work towards the exam season the following summer.
Whatever your link to the new academic year is, I want to wish you all the best as you tackle the challenges and the victories that you have ahead of you. I want to assure you that I will do everything that I can to make this blog as useful to you as possible, particularly if you are a supporter of a dyslexic learner.
Please send me your feedback on the posts in this blog and let me know how I can support you further through our articles.
Wishing you all the best,
John Hicks
