Thank you for thinking differently!

This blog post has a simple message about bullying as it is #AntiBullyingWeek.

Many dyslexics get bullied because their dyslexic thinking causes challenges in education for them.  Sometimes if they are struggling at school other kids will be horrible to them rather than support them.

In the two years that I have been working on presenting information and inspiration to supporters of dyslexic learners I have see that whilst having dyslexia can be a challenge in terms of conventional learning in education, there are so many benefits to also having dyslexia in terms of their creativity, their ability to problem solve, their ability to see things in different ways.

When dyslexics are bullied then the bullying could be happening for so many reasons which are often more to do with the insecurities of the bully rather than that of the bullied.

I want ever dyslexic out there to know that they are valued, respected and that they have a contribution to make to our community.  If you are being bullied don't shy away from telling someone, get help so that you can be the best person that you can be.  Don't let a bully hold you back.

Sending you much love and respect!

John
