We all learn in different ways…
It is ironic isn’t it. I am someone who learns so much more effectively when I am watching a video rather than reading loads of text. Some people love to read and get so much out of it. Everyone is different.
As part of widening my personal remit of providing inspiration and information to the supporters of dyslexic learners on The Studying With Dyslexia Blog, I have decided to make available the latest recordings of webinars that I organise.
My first webinar was on the 5th December 2019 entitled ‘My Child, Their Dyslexia and Self-Esteem.’ This was recorded and is now available from the ‘Recorded Webinars’ page on this blog.
One of the attendees wrote to me and said this about the webinar:
“Dear John
Amidst the emotional turmoil of parenting a dyslexic child who is struggling with school and feeling inadequate it is invaluable to have the support of practical advice from someone who has been there before. The tips and language you use enable me to appreciate the importance of my child's well being and empower me to convey this to others (partner, family, school) in a calm and rational way. I feel what undermines my ability to be positive and patient with my child is support and advice for me. If I am exhausted, angry, overwrought and confused about the way forward I am poorly equipped as you say to create a good relationship with the school and indeed be that rock for my child.
Keep up the amazing work, it really means a lot to us.
Best wishes
Sarah
Parent of a dyslexic child.
I hope that it helps.
Regards,
John
